Assessment & Lab Guide
v1.0 · 2026
Step 01 · Choose your assessment

A more complete picture of how your body is actually performing.

Most primary care providers order basic labs designed to identify disease. This guide helps you build a fuller view of performance, recovery, hormones, metabolism, inflammation, and long-term health — tailored to who you are and what you're trying to improve.

It is not meant to replace your physician — it is meant to help you have a more informed conversation so you get the most comprehensive evaluation possible.

Level 01 · Foundational

Essential Panel

Better-than-basic foundational labs for active people and athletes.

Primary Goals Identify major dysfunction · assess recovery capacity · detect common deficiencies · evaluate performance limitations · screen the full hormone, thyroid, metabolic & inflammation picture.
Commonly missed by PCPs Even a "normal" basic panel often skips the markers that move first in active people — especially female athletes:
Ferritin RBC Magnesium Reverse T3 Free T3 LH / FSH / AMH Fasting Insulin hs-CRP MMA Homocysteine
Recommended Labs
Best for
Most active people & athletes Fatigue Cramping Hormonal concerns Poor recovery Annual baseline
Level 02 · Advanced

Advanced Performance Panel

Essential Panel plus deeper performance, recovery, cardiovascular & longevity markers.

+
Includes everything in the Essential Panel. The labs below are added on top, so your provider will order both lists together.
Essential Panel · 0 labs
Primary Goals Cardiovascular risk refinement (ApoB, NMR, Lp(a)) · advanced glucose & insulin (Kraft pattern) · systemic inflammation (GlycA) · iron regulation (hepcidin, sTfR) · trace minerals · fat-soluble & B-vitamin status.
Additional Markers Beyond Essential
Best for
Endurance athletes Strength & power athletes Cardiovascular optimization Longevity / biohacking Complex recovery cases High-performing professionals
Level 03 · Functional

Root Cause / Whole System Assessment

Advanced testing for unresolved symptoms, gut, immune, hormone, toxin & inflammatory patterns.

+
Includes everything in the Essential and Advanced panels. The specialty tests below add the functional, environmental, and immune workup on top.

Level 04 · Elite

Elite Human Optimization Assessment

Everything above plus imaging, performance testing, movement, sleep, wearables, psychology, environment & lifestyle.

+
Includes every clinical lab from Levels 01, 02 and 03 — plus the imaging, performance, body-composition and program-level assessments below.

How this works The Elite Assessment selects the most relevant tests from the Human Optimization Master Library (Level 05) based on your profile, symptoms, goals, budget, and provider guidance. It is not "every test for every person" — it is the curated full-system view.

Level 05 · Reference

Human Optimization Master Library

The complete backend reference — every category and every test the platform knows about.

How to read this This is not a recommendation that any one person order every test. It is a categorized index of everything the platform considers when curating Levels 01–04. The Elite Assessment selects the most relevant tests from this library based on your profile, symptoms, goals, budget, and provider guidance.

A note on optimal

"Normal" labs aren't always optimal labs.

Many athletes and active individuals experience symptoms long before disease appears on standard blood work. A more comprehensive biomarker assessment can help identify patterns involving recovery, hormones, stress, inflammation, nutrition, metabolism, and nervous-system function earlier in the process.
